§ 20-32-112. Violations — Penalties

  1. (a) Any person or carrier, or any officer, employee, agent, or representative thereof, while operating any vehicle transporting medical waste or which is authorized to transport medical waste, who shall violate any of the rules, including safety rules, prescribed or hereafter prescribed by the State Highway Commission pursuant to § 23-1-101 et seq. or who shall violate any rule of the Department of Health that specifically relates to the transportation of medical waste shall be guilty of a violation.

  2. (b) Upon conviction, that person or carrier, or officer, employee, agent, or representative thereof, shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500) for the first offense and not less than five hundred dollars ($500) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) for any subsequent offense.
