§ 6-64-411. School of Dental Hygiene

  • (a) There is established at the State Medical Center, under the direction of the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas, a University of Arkansas School of Dental Hygiene, which shall offer a program of clinical instruction leading to a degree or certificate in dental hygiene.
  • (b) The board shall establish rules and regulations governing admissions to the University of Arkansas School of Dental Hygiene, programs of instruction therein, and the qualifications and requirements for a degree or certificate. However, rules and regulations for admissions, courses or programs of clinical instruction, and degrees or certificates for graduation therefrom shall be in accordance with the standards established by the recognized national accreditation association of dental hygiene schools or programs.
  • (c) Any degree or certificate granted by the University of Arkansas School of Dental Hygiene shall also be in conformance with the standards for licensing as a dental hygienist under the applicable licensing laws of this state.
