§ 6-17-419. Expired license renewal requirements

  • (a) (1) A person who holds an Arkansas teaching license that is expired for more than one (1) year, who obtained the license before state-mandated licensure assessments were required by law and by rule for licensure, and who has less than three (3) years of teaching experience shall be allowed to renew that teaching license by:
    • (A) Passing the content-area assessment for the requested license;
    • (B) Providing evidence of the completion of the annual professional development requirement for licensure, including the professional development required under § 6-17-409; and
    • (C) Completing the general renewal requirements that are applicable to renewal for all other license holders.
      • (2) A person seeking renewal of an expired license under this section shall be entitled to a provisional license by meeting the general requirements that are applicable to all other persons seeking a provisional license.
  • (b) This section does not allow a person whose license was revoked under § 6-17-410 to renew his or her license.
