§ 23-4-712 - Differentiation in compensation for long and short hauls prohibited.


AR Code § 23-4-712 (2012) What's This?

It shall be unlawful for any person or corporation engaged as specified in ยง 23-4-710 to demand or receive a greater amount of compensation for services rendered for a similar amount and kind of property as a charge for receiving, storing, loading, unloading, carrying, or delivering the property under similar circumstances and conditions and demand or receive a greater compensation for a shorter distance than for a longer distance which includes the shorter distance. The road of any person or corporation shall include all the railroads in use by it, whether owned or operated by it under a contract, agreement, or lease by the corporation or with which it has a traffic contract.
