§ 6-18-803 - Powers and duties.
6-18-803. Powers and duties.(a) Nothing herein contained shall be construed to authorize or permit the use of any safety patrol member for the purpose of directing vehicular traffic. However, this shall not prohibit the use of a flag or other approved signal by a safety patrol member for the purpose of indicating to a driver that school children are crossing the street.
(b) No safety patrol member shall be stationed in that portion of the highway intended for the use of vehicular traffic but shall perform his or her duties from the curb and sidewalk areas.
