§ 14-42-423 - Cities of the second class and towns -- Employees.
14-42-423. Cities of the second class and towns -- Employees.Employees of the department of public safety may perform the functions of police officers, fire fighters, or other services the department may be empowered to undertake if the particular employee is qualified under standards adopted by the governing body of the city to perform these functions and is in compliance with and qualified or certified by the applicable state laws.
