§ 30-653 Radiation regulatory hearing board; qualifications; terms

30-653. Radiation regulatory hearing board; qualifications; terms

A. There is established a radiation regulatory hearing board to consist of five members appointed by the governor pursuant to section 38-211. Each member shall possess not less than four years of education or experience in the use or control of atomic energy or radiation. One member shall possess expertise in the field of medicine or health, one member shall possess expertise in the field of nuclear energy, one member shall possess expertise in the field of mammography and the remaining two members shall be public members who are otherwise qualified pursuant to this subsection.

B. The term of office of each appointed member is five years beginning and ending on the third Monday of January of the appropriate years.

C. Members of the board are entitled to receive compensation as determined pursuant to section 38-611 while attending meetings or performing their powers or duties under this chapter.

D. A majority of the membership of the board constitutes a quorum for the transaction of business. The board shall elect from among its membership a chairman and such other officers it deems necessary, to serve for such terms as the board determines.
