28-3052. Medical advisory board; powers and duties

A. The medical advisory board established by section 28-3051 may:

1. Make recommendations to the director consistent with this article.

2. Make studies, including recommendations, for the purpose of suggesting:

(a) Medical and vision standards for driver license applicants.

(b) Medical and vision standards for driver license examinations.

(c) Courses of training, training facilities and qualifications and methods of training for driver license examining personnel.

(d) Procedures for the certification of driver license personnel and the certification of driver license personnel instructors.

3. Direct research in the field of licensing drivers and may accept public or private grants for the research.

4. Conduct research in the field of examination or reexamination of licensing individual drivers with medical or vision problems.

B. The medical advisory board shall set minimum vision standards for the operation of a motor vehicle in this state.
