§ 8-809 Child welfare mediation program

8-809. Child welfare mediation program

A. A child welfare mediation program is established in the office of the attorney general. The mediation shall include, but not be limited to, disputes between families and child protective services. Any information disclosed during a mediation session held pursuant to this section shall be deemed confidential pursuant to section 8-807.

B. Child protective services personnel and families located in areas of the state outside the initial project sites of Flagstaff, Phoenix and Tucson may participate in the mediation services provided by this section by scheduling appointments with the mediation coordinator at the project sites.

C. If a person requests mediation under subsection A of this section, at least one mediation session shall be held. Thereafter, the mediator shall determine if additional sessions are appropriate.
