6-202. Existing banks

The authority under which an existing bank is engaged in the banking business or the banking and trust business under the laws of this state prior to the effective date of this article shall continue in full force and effect. The superintendent may, and shall upon request, issue a banking permit to such bank to evidence such authority without any further act on the part of the bank or the payment of any fee.
