36-3402 Division of behavioral health; deputy director; appointment; search committee; compensation

36-3402. Division of behavioral health; deputy director; appointment; search committee; compensation

A. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 36-103, the division of behavioral health is established in the department of health services.

B. The direction, operation and control of the division are the responsibility of the deputy director who shall report directly to the director.

C. The deputy director shall be appointed by the director and shall serve at the pleasure of the director.

D. The deputy director shall have the following qualifications:

1. Administrative experience in the private and public sector, with progressively increasing responsibilities.

2. An educational background in the clinical aspects of mental health that prepares the deputy director for the responsibilities assigned to the position.

3. Behavioral health related experience which ensures familiarity with behavioral health problems.

E. Compensation for the deputy director shall be established pursuant to section 38-611.
