2005 Arizona Revised Statutes - Revised Statutes §41-4102  Duties of council

A. The interagency council on long-term care shall recommend methods to develop and implement a coordinated long-term care services delivery system that:

1. Ensures the dignity of consumers of long-term care services.

2. Is designed to meet the individual needs of consumers.

3. Provides services and programs that are of the highest quality.

4. Promotes consumer self-determination by providing an opportunity for consumer choice and input.

5. Enhances appropriate alternatives to institutional care such as home and community based long-term care services.

6. Integrates various funding sources to provide affordable services at the highest quality.

B. The council shall define this state's long-term care obligations by coordinating applicable state and federal mandates that relate to long-term care services.

C. The council shall submit an annual report of its progress toward implementing a coordinated long-term care services delivery system to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives on or before November 15. The council shall provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state and the director of the Arizona state library, archives and public records.
