2005 Arizona Revised Statutes - Revised Statutes §41-1552.04  Office of small business innovative research; duties; small business‑university technology councils; information to small businesses

With respect to the program, the department shall establish within the department the office that has the following responsibilities:

1. Promoting awareness of the federal and state programs, including an outreach program to encourage participation among small businesses in this state.

2. Assisting in the development of high quality business plans to ensure the successful commercialization of technology developed by businesses participating in the SBIR or STTR program.

3. Facilitating and promoting the establishment of joint small business-university technology councils at the state universities to encourage small firms and university experts to facilitate the transfer of technology and work together on research and development projects of mutual interest. Universities participating with small businesses under this program may provide university resources, including technical support, use of laboratory facilities and consulting services.
