2005 Arizona Revised Statutes - Revised Statutes §41-175  County assistance fund

A. The county assistance fund is established. The fund shall consist of monies appropriated pursuant to section 5-522 and shall be administered by the state treasurer.

B. Each month in which monies are deposited in the fund the state treasurer shall distribute such monies to the counties in this state. In no event shall the total amount distributed to counties from the fund exceed seven million six hundred fifty thousand dollars in any fiscal year. Monies in the fund shall be distributed as follows:

1. Ninety-three and forty-seven one-hundredths per cent of such monies shall be distributed equally among counties with a population of five hundred thousand or fewer persons as determined in the most recent United States decennial census.

2. Six and fifty-three one-hundredths per cent of such monies shall be distributed equally among counties with a population of more than five hundred thousand persons as determined in the most recent United States decennial census.
