(a) The County Commission of Marion County is authorized and directed to pay the chief deputy sheriff, each deputy sheriff, and the sheriff’s clerk an additional expense allowance of one hundred dollars ($100) per month payable from the general fund of the county. The expense allowance shall be in addition to all compensation or allowances heretofore payable to each such officer.

(b) The Sheriff of Marion County shall be entitled to receive an expense allowance in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) per month and each deputy sheriff of Marion County shall be entitled to receive an expense allowance of fifty dollars ($50) per month to be paid out of the county general fund. This expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other compensation, salary, and expense allowances provided for by law. The expense allowance shall be paid out of the General Fund of Marion County.
