Section 45-35-40Branch banking. After July 22, 1987, any established bank which is authorized by its charter or by law to do a general banking business in Houston County, with the written consent of the State Department of Banks, may open, establish, and operate branch banks, branch offices, or places for doing a banking business anywhere within the county, any other provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding.
