Section 29-5-3Appointment, salary, and removal of director; participation by director in State Employees' Retirement System.

The Director of the Legislative Fiscal Office shall be selected and appointed by the Legislative Council, upon the unanimous recommendation of the Chairs of the House Ways and Means Committees (Education and General Fund) and the Chairs of the Finance and Taxation Committees (Education and General Fund), who, together, shall constitute and be known as the Fiscal Committee of the Legislative Council. The salary of the director shall be fixed by the Legislative Council. The director may participate in any retirement system available to state employees. The director may be removed by a majority vote of the Legislative Council or by a joint resolution of the House and Senate.
