Section 16-53-1Body corporate. The Governor and the State Superintendent of Education, by virtue of their respective offices, and the trustees appointed pursuant to Section 16-53-3 and their successors in office are hereby constituted and shall be a body corporate under the name of The University of West Alabama, as successor to Livingston University.
