Section 14-6A-34Governmental entity. A regional jail authority is a governmental entity as defined by subdivision (1) of Section 11-93-1, and the services it performs are hereby declared to be governmental functions. The employees of the authority shall be entitled to participate in the Employees' Retirement System of Alabama.
