Section 44-2-22Department of pensions and security to act as appropriate public authority. The [term] "appropriate public authorities" as used in Article III of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children shall, with reference to this state, mean the department of pensions and security of the state of Alabama and said department shall receive and act with reference to notices required by said Article III.
