Section 6-9-62Levy of execution after defendant's death. A writ of execution issued and received by the sheriff during the life of the defendant may be levied after his death or an alias issued and levied within 10 years from the date of the judgment if at the time of his death there was of record, in the county where the property is, a certificate of the judgment on which the execution issued.
