Section 34-16-2Legislative intent. The Legislature declares that it is in the best interest of the public health, safety, and welfare to regulate the practice of interpreting and transliterating on behalf of consumers who are hard of hearing, deaf, or speech disabled by licensing and permitting the providers of interpreting and transliterating services, and establishing and monitoring interpreting and transliterating standards in the State of Alabama.
