Chapter 4 - HIGHWAY AND TRAFFIC SAFETY COORDINATION ACT.
Section 32-4-5 - Participation in benefits of National Highway Safety Act of 1966; standards and programs of political subdivisions.
The Governor is hereby authorized and granted the power to contract and to exercise any other powers which may be necessary in order to insure that all departments of state government and local political subdivisions participate to the fullest extent possible in the benefits available under the "National Highway Safety Act of 1966" and all subsequent amendments thereto and similar federal programs of highway and traffic safety. The Governor is hereby authorized to formulate standards for highway and traffic safety programs for political subdivisions to assure that they meet criteria of the National Highway Safety Bureau, or its successor, and shall institute a reporting system for the local political subdivisions to report the status of their programs to the state.(Acts 1967, No. 270, p. 775, §5.)
