Section 11-44-8Commissioners - Designation; qualification for office. The commissioners provided for in this article shall be known collectively as the board of commissioners of the city or town of (name of said city or town to be inserted) and shall have the powers and duties provided in this article. The commissioners first elected shall qualify for office in the manner prescribed in Section 11-44-9 on or before the second Monday following the date of their respective elections.
