Section 11-43D-16Administrative assistants. Upon the request of the mayor, the council may establish not more than two positions of administrative assistants to the mayor and establish the salary for said positions. Once established, the mayor shall appoint a person or persons to hold said position or positions. These positions shall not be subject to the rules and regulations of any civil service or merit system applicable to said city.
