2006 Alabama Code - Section 33-1-31 — Promulgation of regulations by port authority; penalties for violation of regulations.

The port authority is authorized to formulate and promulgate rules and regulations for the operation of any seaport or harbor within the state. Any person, firm, association or corporation violating any of the rules and regulations established or authorized to be established by this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and for each offense shall be subjected to a fine of not exceeding $500.00 and may also be imprisoned in the county jail or sentenced to hard labor for the county for not more than six months. Any fines so collected shall be paid to the port authority and by it placed to the credit of the operating fund.
