No. 04-98-00283-CV
Allen LANIER,
Appellant
v.
City of LAREDO & Firefighters' and Police Officers'

Civil Service Commission, City of Laredo, Texas,

Appellees
From the 111th Judicial District Court, Webb County, Texas
Trial Court No. 96-CVQ-01540-D2
Honorable Antonio A. Zardenetta, Judge Presiding

PER CURIAM

Sitting: Alma L. L pez, Justice

Paul W. Green, Justice

Sarah B. Duncan, Justice

Delivered and Filed: October 30, 1998

AFFIRMED

Allen Lanier, an officer of the police department of the City of Laredo, appeals from the district court order granting the appellees' motion for summary judgment in Lanier's appeal from a hearing examiner's decision upholding his demotion. Because the issues in this case involve well-settled law, we overrule Lanier's sole point of error and affirm the trial court's judgment in this memorandum opinion pursuant to Texas Rule of Appellate Procedure 47.1.

The City of Laredo and the Civil Service Commission enumerated multiple grounds in their motion for summary judgment. The district court's order granted summary judgment without specifying a ground. To succeed in his appeal, Lanier must therefore show that each ground alleged in the motion is insufficient to support the summary judgment. Basse Truck Line, Inc. v. First State Bank, 949 S.W.2d 17, 19 (Tex. App.--San Antonio 1997, writ denied). On appeal, Lanier fails to address each of the possible grounds upon which the court could have based its ruling. Accordingly, we affirm the trial court's judgment. See Malooly Bros., Inc. v. Napier, 461 S.W.2d 119, 121 (Tex. 1970); Basse Truck, 949 S.W.2d at 19.
