In The Fourteenth Court of Appeals NO. 14-17-00730-CR IN RE DELVIN ARCHIE, Relator ORIGINAL PROCEEDING WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS 405th District Court Galveston County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 16CR3019 MEMORANDUM OPINION On September 14, 2017, Delvin Archie filed an application for writ of habeas corpus asking this court to grant habeas relief reducing the amount of his bail bond. See Tex. Gov’t Code Ann. § 22.221 (West 2004); see also Tex. R. App. P. 52. Our court has no original jurisdiction to grant a writ of habeas corpus in a criminal law matter. Tex. Gov’t Code § 22.221(d); Ex parte Hawkins, 885 S.W.2d 586, 588 (Tex. App.—El Paso 1994, orig. proceeding) (per curiam); In re Spriggs, No. 07-17-00266-CR, ___ S.W.3d ___, ___, 2017 WL 3399936, at *1 (Tex. App.— Amarillo Aug. 7, 2017, orig. proceeding). Accordingly, we dismiss Delvin Archie’s application for writ of habeas corpus for want of jurisdiction. PER CURIAM Panel consists of Chief Justice Frost and Justices Boyce and Jewell.
