Defendants, Officer Brandon Dugas and his employer Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG), filed a supervisory writ in this matter seeking review of the trial court’s ruling granting the motion for partial summary judgment filed by Plaintiffs, Cassie Angelle and her automobile insurer Progressive Paloverde Insurance Company (Progressive) and finding Defendants solely at fault for collision with Ms. Angelle. Thereafter, Defendants appealed a contemporaneous judgment of the trial court finding Defendants solely at fault for the collision and granting the Plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment. We granted the writ application for the limited purpose of ordering the consolidation of the writ with the appeal.
