Tepanca v. GeorgiaAnnotate this Case
After a jury trial, Hugo Tepanca was found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during
the commission of a felony, all in connection to the 2008 shooting death of Jose Sanchez-Vargas. On appeal, Tepanca argued, among other things, that he had been subjected to mutually exclusive verdicts and that he received ineffective assistance from his first appellate counsel. Finding no reversible error, the Supreme Court affirmed.
