United States v. Steffen, No. 12-4484 (4th Cir. 2013)Annotate this Case
Defendant, a highway patrolman, appealed his sentence after being convicted of a conspiracy involving the large-scale cultivation of marijuana. Under the court's deferential standard of review, the evidence in the record was sufficient to support the district court's conclusion that defendant was a manager or supervisor of at least one other person. Accordingly, the court concluded that the district court's application of U.S.S.G. 3B1.1(b) was not clearly erroneous and affirmed the sentence.
