PETITIONER’S MOTION AND
AMENDED MOTION FOR DEFAULT
JUDGMENT AND ORDER OF
DISBARMENT
V.
ALICE WARD GREENE, ARKANSAS
BAR NO. 95197
RESPONDENT
MOTION GRANTED.
PER CURIAM
Petitioner Nancie M. Givens, as acting Executive Director of the Supreme Court
Committee on Professional Conduct, filed with this court a petition for disbarment against
Alice Ward Greene on November 9, 2011. Ms. Greene was personally served with a
summons on November 14, 2011, and an amended summons on January 5, 2012. Ms. Greene
failed to respond and the Committee then moved for default judgment and an order of
disbarment based upon the facts in its original petition. The petition alleged serious
misconduct on the part of Ms. Greene. On March 29, 2012, this court appointed a special
master, the Honorable Tom Keith, to make findings of fact, conclusions of law, and to
recommend an appropriate sanction. See Givens v. Greene, 2012 Ark. 135 (per curiam).
The special master filed the requested findings of fact, conclusions of law, and
recommendations on September 28, 2012. The special master found that Ms. Greene

committed serious misconduct and was in default for failing to respond after due and legal
notice. Givens again moved this court for an entry of a final order of disbarment on October
1, 2012, and our clerk was directed to set a briefing schedule. Ms. Greene’s brief was due on
December 4, 2012. To date, Ms. Greene has failed to file anything with this court. Therefore,
she is in default under Ark. R. Civ. P. 55, the allegations of the petition for disbarment are
deemed admitted, and the proper sanction is disbarment. See Ligon v. Revels, 367 Ark. 186,
238 S.W.3d 609 (2006) (per curiam).
The name of Alice Ward Greene, Arkansas Bar No. 95197, shall be removed from the
registry of licensed attorneys, and she is barred and enjoined from engaging in the practice of
law in this state.
It is so ordered.
