     32-9-41.   Compliance with chapter required. Every person or corporation operating a motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer as a motor carrier on the highways of this state, whether engaged in business wholly in this state, or partly in this state and partly in an adjoining state, shall comply with the provisions of this chapter pertaining to the type of operation engaged in by such carrier.
