32-12-30.
Unlicensable persons--Suspended or revoked license or privilege to drive--
Exceptions--Out-of-state suspension.
The Department of Public Safety may not issue any license
under this chapter to any person whose license or privilege to drive is suspended or revoked, except
as provided in §§ 32-12-47.1 and 32-12-48. If the denial of a license is a result of an out-of-state
suspension or revocation that is at least eight years old, the department may grant temporary driving
privileges to drive on the highways of this state. The department may cancel temporary driving
privileges at the end of sixty days if that person has not satisfied the out-of-state suspension or
revocation.
