§ 757.03. Payments to symphony associations, area arts councils or other similar organizations by board of education.
 

As used in sections 757.03 to 757.08 of the Revised Code, "area arts council" means an arts council or other organization the purpose of which is to foster and encourage the development of the arts, including but not limited to, literature, theater, music, the dance, painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, and motion pictures. 
 

In any city or county in which there is a symphony association, area arts council, or other similar organization, which is incorporated under sections 1702.01 to 1702.58 of the Revised Code, without purpose of profit to any private member or individual, but organized for the purpose of the cultivation and performance of instrumental music, the promotion of the arts, or to maintain a symphony orchestra, the board of education of any school district in such city or the educational service center governing board serving such county, or both, may pay the symphony association, council, or other organization annually, in quarterly installments, in the case of a school district board of education, a sum of not to exceed one half of one cent on each one hundred dollars of the taxable property of the district and, in the case of an educational service center governing board, a sum of not to exceed one half of one cent on each one hundred dollars of the taxable property of the territory of the service center, as valued on the tax duplicate for the next year before the date of the payment. In order to qualify for such payments, the symphony association, arts council, or other organization shall, by proper resolution of its board of trustees or other governing body, accept all applicable provisions of sections 757.03 to 757.08 of the Revised Code, and file a certified copy of the resolution with the board of education of such district or with the governing board of such educational service center prior to the date of any payment. The first of such payments may be made in the year after the filing of such certified copy.
