40-4C-7. Health insurance coverage required.
Any health insurance coverage plan ordered for a minor child pursuant to the Mandatory Medical Support Act [ 40-4C-1 NMSA 1978] shall at a minimum, meet minimum standards of acceptable coverage, deductibles, coinsurance, lifetime benefits, out-of-pocket expenses, co-payments and plan requirements as set forth in regulations promulgated by the secretary of human services pursuant to the Mandatory Medical Support Act. To be an acceptable choice under the act, a health maintenance organization plan, in addition to meeting minimum standards, shall have a coverage area specified under the plan that includes the residential area of the minor child who is covered under the plan as an eligible dependent.
