     84A.08 Preserve lands classified. 

    On receiving the reports of a county auditor specified in 
 section 84A.04, the commissioner of natural resources shall 
 certify a copy of the report to the department.  The department 
 shall classify the lands as to their suitability for 
 agriculture, afforestation or reforestation, or ownership and 
 use by the state for preserving, propagating, breeding, and 
 hunting of wildlife of the kinds specified in section 84A.01.  
 After the state acquires title to the lands they may be 
 reclassified.  Lands that become the absolute property of the 
 state under sections 84A.01 to 84A.11 and have been classified 
 as suitable for agriculture, and timber from any lands so 
 acquired, may be sold by the state.
