§26.  Pay and allowances for active service

A.  When the military forces of the state are called to active duty by lawful authority, the officers, warrant officers, and enlisted men shall receive the pay and allowances established by law for the regular army of the United States of America.  Whenever officers, warrant officers, or enlisted men are called as individuals for full time service with the military department as provided in R.S. 29:11 the adjutant general, in the interest of economy and by agreement with the personnel, may determine to pay an amount more in conformity with his budget and the duties to be performed.  "Allowances", as used in this Section, does not include any pay from state funds to dependents of personnel when called into active service.  

B.  Kitchens may be operated with funding not to exceed the allowance authorized by the National Guard Bureau for Inactive Duty Training.
