440.100 Reward for apprehension of fugitive from justice.
In aggravated cases of murder and other felonies against the person when the accused
flees from justice, the Governor, on petition of the Circuit or District Judge of the county,
may issue a proclamation offering a reward of not more than five hundred dollars ($500)
for the apprehension of the accused. This reward shall be paid upon production of a
receipt from the officer named in the Governor's proclamation, showing delivery of the
fugitive to him, approved and certified by the Circuit Court of the county of that officer's
residence.
