Sec. 0.01.
Short title.
This Act may be cited as the
Firearms Training Act.

Sec. 1.
The Department of Natural Resources, in
cooperation with public and
private associations and organizations that are interested in promoting safety
in firearm handling, may promote and develop programs for training in the safe
handling of all types of firearms.

Sec. 2.
The Department of Natural Resources shall establish procedures
for administering the
programs. The Department may charge fees to recover expenses and shall deposit
any fees collected into the Wildlife and Fish Fund.

Sec. 3.
Every program coordinator authorized by the Director to
supervise a training program organized under this Act shall be covered
by a liability insurance policy which protects him from liability for
damages arising during any time he is engaged in the operation of his
official duties. The cost of such a program coordinator's liability
insurance policy shall be paid by the State of Illinois and shall be a
charge on the wildlife and fish fund.
