                                  CHAPTER 12
                                 LOG SCALING
    38-1202.  DEFINITIONS. As used in this act, unless the context or subject
matter requires otherwise:
    (a)  Scaler and Professional Scaler. A person who is qualified by reason
of his knowledge of the principles of scaling acquired by professional
education and/or practical experience, to engage in the practice of scaling
forest products.
    (b)  Scaling. The quantitative measurement of logs or other forest
products by means of a log rule. The term "scaling" shall include any
professional scaling service rendered in connection with the measurement of
forest products, or supervision of scaling when such service is rendered
requiring the application of scaling principles and data.
    (c)  Board. The state board of scaling practices.
