The
State Depository Board, through the director of the Office of Treasury and
Fiscal Services, may assist local governments in developing effective cash
management policies and in investing funds that are temporarily in excess of
operating needs, by:
(1)
Explaining investment opportunities provided by the local government investment
pool to local governments through publications and other appropriate means;
(2)
Informing local governments of the state´s practice and experience in
investing short-term funds; and
(3)
In consultation with the Department of Community Affairs, providing technical
assistance in the investment of idle funds to municipalities and counties that
request such assistance.
