(a)
In addition to all other inherent powers of the court to enforce its lawful
orders, the court may punish a person for contempt of court for willfully
disobeying an order of the court or for obstructing or interfering with the
proceedings of the court or the enforcement of its orders, subject to the law
relating to the procedures therefor and the limitations thereon.
(b)
In addition or as an alternative to the punishment provided in subsection (a) of
this Code section, after notice and opportunity for hearing, the court may
impose any or all of the following sanctions when a parent, guardian, or other
custodian willfully violates any order issued by the court directed to that
parent, guardian, or other custodian:
(1)
Require the parent, guardian, or other custodian of the child to make
restitution in an amount not to exceed $2,500.00 for any damage or loss caused
by the child´s wrongful act;
(2)
Impose a fine not to exceed $1,000.00;
(3)
Reimburse the state for the costs of detention, treatment, or rehabilitation of
the child;
(4)
Require the parent, guardian, or other custodian of the child to perform court
approved community service designed to contribute to the ability of the parent,
guardian, or other custodian to provide proper parental care and supervision of
the child; or
(5)
Require the parent, guardian, or other custodian of the child to enter into a
contract or plan as a part of the disposition of any charges against the child,
so as to provide for the supervision and control of the child by the parent,
guardian, or custodian and reunification of the child with the parent, guardian,
or custodian.
