13.1-765. Resignation of registered agent of foreign corporation.

A. The registered agent of a foreign corporation may resign the agencyappointment by signing and filing with the Commission a statement ofresignation accompanied by a certification that the registered agent hasmailed a copy thereof to the principal office of the corporation by certifiedmail. The statement of resignation may include a statement that theregistered office is also discontinued.

B. The agency appointment is terminated, and the registered officediscontinued if so provided, on the thirty-first day after the date on whichthe statement was filed.
