(a) There is established the Advisory Committee on the Records of Congress (hereafter in this chapter referred to as the Committee).
(b) The Committee shall be subject to the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App.), except that the Committee shall be of permanent duration, notwithstanding any provision of section 14 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act.

CODIFICATIONAnother section 1 of title IV of Pub. L. 101–509, 104 Stat. 1421, amended section 8902 of Title 5, Government Organization and Employees.
PRIOR PROVISIONSA prior section 2701, Pub. L. 90–620, Oct. 22, 1968, 82 Stat. 1295, established Federal Records Council and set forth composition, compensation, etc., of such Council, prior to repeal by Pub. L. 95–378, §2(a), Sept. 22, 1978, 92 Stat. 723. Section 1 of Pub. L. 95–378 abolished the Federal Records Council.
