Section 1-45-6.2 - Vacancies on board--Meetings of board.
1-45-6.2. Vacancies on board--Meetings of board. The initial term of office shall be designated by the Governor. Any member appointed to fill a vacancy arising from other than the natural expiration of a term shall serve only the unexpired portion of the term. The South Dakota Board of Education shall meet at least four times annually. Special meetings may be held at the call of the president or in his absence a majority of the board, or at the call of the state superintendent, or at the call of the secretary of the Department of Education.Source: SL 1985, ch 401, § 19; SL 1991, ch 20 (Ex.
