1-19B-31. Ordinary maintenance and repairs not prohibited--Changes required for public safety. Nothing in this chapter prevents the ordinary maintenance or repair of any exterior feature in or on an historic property that does not involve a change in design, material, or outer appearance, nor prevents the construction, reconstruction, alteration, restoration, demolition, or removal of any such feature if a building inspector or similar official certifies to the Historic Preservation Commission that such action is required for the public safety because of an unsafe or dangerous condition.Source: SL 1974, ch 21, § 18; SL 2009, ch 1, § 84.
