2006 South Dakota Code - 3-6A-23 — Selection and appointment from eligible list--Misdemeanor.

     3-6A-23.   Selection and appointment from eligible list--Misdemeanor. Appointing authorities shall have exclusive authority to make the final selection of employees in their respective departments, bureaus, divisions, and institutions. Such appointments shall be made from among the best qualified individuals on a list of eligible applicants certified by the personnel commissioner as meeting the minimum qualifications standards for the position to be filled. A violation of this section is a Class 1 misdemeanor.
