§ 36-8-5 - Vacancies on board.
SECTION 36-8-5
§ 36-8-5 Vacancies on board. – If, for any reason whatsoever, there shall be a vacancy in the office of an appointed member of the board the appointing authority shall appoint a successor within seventy (70) days for the balance of the vacated term; provided, however, that all gubernatorial and general treasurer appointments made under this section after the effective date of this act [July 4, 2006] shall be subject to the advice and consent of the senate. If, for any reason whatsoever, there shall be a vacancy in the office of an elected member of the board the seat shall be filled by a new election of the respective group within seventy (70) days for the balance of the vacated term.
