[§ 5101.57.2] § 5101.572. Request for information from third parties; disclosure and use.
 

Upon the request of the department of job and family services, any third party as defined in section 5101.571 [5101.57.1] of the Revised Code shall cooperate with the department in identifying individuals for the purpose of establishing third party liability pursuant to Title XIX of the Social Security Act, as amended. The department of job and family services shall limit its use of information gained from third parties to purposes directly connected with the administration of the medicaid program. No third party shall disclose to other parties or make use of any information regarding recipients of aid under Chapter 5107. or 5111. of the Revised Code that it obtains from the department of job and family services, except in the manner provided for by the director of job and family services in administrative rules. Any information provided by a third party to the department of job and family services shall not be considered a violation of any right of confidentiality or contract that the third party may have with covered persons including, but not limited to, contractees, beneficiaries, heirs, assignees, and subscribers. The third party is immune from any liability that it may otherwise incur through its release of information to the department of job and family services.
